Vallipuram was an ancient capital of the Northern Kingdoms of Sri Lanka. Point Pedro is the nearest town. Vallipuram is a part of Thunnalai which is a village in eastern vadamarachi.
Hindu People worship The God Vishnu in this temple.In Sri Lanka there are three main Vishnu temples, but 2 of them are situated in Jaffna.
